Greatly inspired by Mrs. Dennison to realize the divine call on her life to be a teacher, Carole Moyer knew in third grade that she would teach. In sixth grade, she knew that she would teach kindergarten, and henceforth she was blessed to teach kindergarten for thirty-four of her forty-nine years with the district. One of the most important aspects in her life has been her relationship with Jesus Christ.
In the mid-1990s, she began her career as a consultant for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and as an early childhood coordinator for Columbus Public Schools where she trained and supervised approximately 200 kindergarten para-professionals per year. She subsequently served as a consultant for the Ohio Department of Education for four years Today, Ms. Moyer applies her considerable expertise to BloomBoard and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as an educational consultant.
Before professionally emerging in the field, Ms. Moyer earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in education from the Ohio State University in 1975. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the National Education Association, the Columbus Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, the International Association of Early Childhood Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Dedicated to her community, Ms. Moyer contributes to those in need as a volunteer with the local chapter of the American Red Cross as well as the director of Christian education and a Sunday school superintendent for Grace Apostolic Church.
In light of her outstanding body of work, Ms. Moyer was recognized in Who's Who Among American Teachers and presented with the Walt Disney Company Presents the American Teacher Award in 1998. In addition, she was chosen to be the National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) to write and present a speech to introduce President Clinton to the thousands of NBCTs and guests at the annual conference. Looking ahead, she aims to author a book about how to be a successful early childhood educator. Additionally, Ms. Moyer intends to continue flourishing as an educational consultant with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
