HAMPTON, VA, September 17, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olga Crupper has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Though she attended private schools in Europe and Central America, Ms. Crupper was always taught that "no matter how high you get, never forget where you come from." Despite her academic privilege and having earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, she states that her true education resulted from working on her family's coffee farm in Guatemala. Workers at the farm were always treated well, but others in the area were not necessarily treated in the same way. In her own words, "From when I was a little girl, I learned to do something without expecting anything…I learned everybody deserves to be treated with respect and love."
For more than 50 years, Ms. Crupper has provided support to those less fortunate, culminating in her current role as the president and founder of the Human Relief Organization. Now practicing out of her Hampton home, she has contributed to her home country of Guatemala, where she is currently helping to establish a dental clinic. Additionally, Ms. Crupper recently returned to Central America to coordinate American medical services through Physicians for Peace, a nonprofit organization that provides free specialized medical care to countries in need.
Throughout her career, Ms. Crupper also had the honor of serving as an interpreter for Kings Daughters Ministries of the Virginia Peninsula, a missionary group dedicated to helping Guatemalan prisoners. One of the many people that she encountered during this time was Ottoniel Aguilalar y Blanco, a Nicaraguan man serving a 15-year sentence because he had lost his passport and had not enough money to pay the fines. Later, she would find him a lawyer. Looking ahead, she intends to continue working with the homeless and elderly populations. Even though she has accomplished so much and helped so many, Ms. Crupper knows that there is always work to be done.
