A distinguished nonprofit developer and management consultant, Ms. Hoganson has garnered a laudable reputation as the president and founder of SCH Strategies LLC since 2005. Providing an array of services to clients, she is the former president and chief executive officer of Laguna Honda Foundation in San Francisco, a long-term care facility that is recognized as the largest of its kind in the U.S. She also served as the executive director and chief executive officer of Enterprise for High School Students in San Francisco for nearly a decade, a nonprofit organization that helps students transition into the job force. Additionally, Ms. Hoganson contributed for many years in banking and private wealth management, more recently as the vice president of Union Bank of Switzerland in San Francisco.
Although Ms. Hoganson held a great passion for her career in banking, she eventually pivoted towards nonprofit organizing, where she was able to utilize her skills in successfully creating several businesses. Entering consultation, she specialized in governance and strategic problem solving. Aligned with several professional organizations, Ms. Hoganson is a member of the International Women's Forum and American Rewards for College Scientists. She is also a past president of the Women's Forum West.
As a community leader for many years, Ms. Hoganson is currently a member of the national council of the World Wildlife Fund, which is based in Washington, D.C. Likewise, she is the former chair of the board of trustees of the Graduate Theological Union. She formerly served on the board of directors of the Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services in San Francisco and in the same capacity for the United Way of the Bay Area. Among other roles, Ms. Hoganson was a trustee of the Hamlin School in San Francisco.
Ms. Hoganson received a Bachelor of Arts at Hollins College in 1969, followed by a Master of Education at Boston University in 1973. She later completed postgraduate coursework and Certificate in Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she was notably a fellow at the Center for Social Innovation. Ms. Hoganson was the recipient of a Volunteer Merit Award for her contributions from the United Way of the Bay Area in 1996 and a Women Center Honors Award in 2010, and Certificate of Honor from the City and County of San Francisco in 2010.
