FORT COLLINS, CO, September 22, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bonnie Skinner Titley has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dedicated to the lifelong pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Titley attended the University of Colorado Boulder, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English language and literature and working as an administrative secretary during the early 1960s. Upon graduating, she joined Colorado State University in the English Department, serving as an instructor, and assistant chairperson. She was appointed director of academic advising and scholastic standards for the next eighteen years. During this time, Dr. Titley consulted for the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Wyoming, Wayne State College and Colorado Mountain College. She completed a Doctor of Education at the University of Northern Colorado in 1976.
Dr. Titley retired from her duties at Colorado State University, where she earned the distinguished title of assistant professor emeritus. Dr. Titley participated as a sustaining member and secretary of board of directors for Character Fort Collins for nine years, writing monthly articles on character for the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
To remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Titley maintained her professional alignment with a number of organizations, including the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the American College Personnel Association, the American Association for Counseling and Development and the National Academic Advising Association, to name only a few. Outside of her work, Dr. Titley devoted herself to the community through the local planning and zoning commission, 4-H program, Team Fort Collins, Character Fort Collins, the Fort Collins Symphony Board of Directors, as well as a plethora of committees at Colorado State University. Currently Dr. Titley is active in the Rotary Club of Fort Collins and the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.
Along with other academic scholars, Dr. Titley has contributed to papers, publications and workshops, such as "Initial Choice of College Major and Attrition: The 'Decided' and 'Undecided' after Six Years," which was featured in the Journal of College Student Personnel and "A Code of Ethics: Its Time Has Come," a paper that was presented at the National Orientation Directors Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee. In light of her outstanding breadth of knowledge, she has also served as an editor for the NACADA Journal, Student Development Reports and the College of Applied Human Sciences Annual Report. In the coming years, Dr. Titley hopes to inspire future generations, and lives by the quote, "Real generosity towards the future lies in giving all to the present."
