Backed by more than 25 years of expertise in education, Ms. Marquette excels as an associate professor with the North Dakota State College of Science, for which she teaches between 16 and 18 credits every semester for a variety of classes, including human resource management, business in the legal environment and fundamentals of accounting. Earlier in her career, she worked as a schoolteacher for the Wahpeton Public School System between 2000 and 2009. Moreover, Ms. Marquette was active as a business education instructor for Lisbon High School from 1993 to 1995.
Over the years, Ms. Marquette has also gained valuable expertise in education as a mentor with the North Dakota Career & Technology Educational Clinical Practice Program. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of obtaining a Master of Arts in speech communication from North Dakota State University, which pushed her out of her comfort zone and allowed her to grow. Previously, Ms. Marquette graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business education with a minor in English from Valley City State University in 1993.
Ms. Marquette has further earned a number of certifications through CareerTrack, including a "train the trainer" certification and certifications in developing emotional intelligence and understanding financial statements. Outside of her primary work, she contributes to her community as a mentor with True Direction and Nordland Lutheran Church Confirmation Program and a board member with the Operation Round-Up Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative and Sargent Central Schools Dollars for Scholars. Ms. Marquette has further flourished as a volunteer with Sargent County 4-H.
Due to her outstanding efforts in the field, Ms. Marquette has been honored on many occasions, accepting the North Dakota State College of Science's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2002, 2009 and 2016. Recognized as the Woman of Outstanding Leadership in 2015, she and her husband, Kyle, were recipients of the Sargent County Harvest Bowl Award in Agriculture in 2019 from North Dakota State University. Looking toward the future, Ms. Marquette aims to experience continued success in her career as an educator.
