Now retired, Mr. Strohl found success as the executive director of customer service and the district manager of the resident service center at AT&T for 47 years until 2014. Responsible for more than 250 employees, including 30 managers, he was tasked with the oversight of customer service and collection activities, as well as advertising across five states. He was formerly aligned with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, for more than 15 years, during which time he rose from business office operations supervisor to a management development supervisor, district manager and district manager of the residence service center. Significant to his promotions, Mr. Strohl worked in locations throughout Wichita, Topeka, Hays and Mission, Kansas, as well as in Saint Louis.
As an expert in areas of customer service, collections, and human resources, Mr. Strohl briefly worked in consulting for APC Workforce Solutions from 2012 to 2013. He also had the opportunity to serve as a guest lecturer of MBA courses at his alma mater, Southwestern College. In 2018, Mr. Strohl authored a self-help book, "Life is All About Relationships." The inspiration to write the book stemmed from his nearly five decades of previous experience with Bell Telephone and A&T, the many relationships he experienced, and the personal achievements he was fortunate to celebrate.
Invested in his community, Mr. Strohl supported the United Way Campaign as its chairperson. He also served on the board of the Job Training Partnership Act and the board of trustees of Southwestern College. Mr. Strohl was active as the director of the Employee Political Action Committee in Topeka.
Mr. Strohl is an alumnus of Southwestern College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 1966. He also completed additional coursework in the Master of Arts in human resources program at Ottawa University. To support his professional career, he has been active as a member of the Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Overland Park and Kansas City Chambers of Commerce, the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club and the Speakers Bureau Club. Celebrated for his success, Mr. Strohl was named as the Key Man by Chanute Jaycees of Kansas in 1970 and received an Outstanding Citizen Award from the Wichita Police Department in 1971. He was later acknowledged with a Master Builder Award in 1988 and was inducted into the Business Hall of Fame by Southwestern College in 2007.
