Dr. Salazar subsequently undertook a residency at the department of internal medicine of the University of Texas Health Science Center from 2001 to 2003, and a fellowship in geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine until 2005. Additionally, he flourished as an instructor in palliative care at the University of South Florida and Chamberlain University and an assistant professor of geriatric medicine at the University of South Florida from 2009 to 2011.
Well-regarded in his field, Dr. Salazar notably approaches medicine from a holistic perspective, preferring to treat not only the corporeal issues afflicting his patients, but also treating their mind, body and spirit.
