Initially enrolling at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1995.
Though she thoroughly enjoyed instructing her students through Fairfax County Public Schools, Ms. Travis decided to embark on a professional venture into business management and corporate finance. After serving as a staff accountant for two years at an food service firm, she quickly obtained a promotion as an assistant to the chief financial officer of the company. Subsequently, she was active in the field of information technology for cleared defense contractors and collaborated with the United States Army 7th Signal Command.
Over the years, Ms. Travis continued to garner experience in computer science until she co-founded Industrial Security Integrators LLC, an industrial security company with which she thrived for 10 years. After marketing, advertising and business development for the aforementioned organization, she realized she possessed the confidence and ability to cultivate her own independent business model. Currently, she excels as the president and chief executive officer of her promotional and general consulting agency, J. Robbins Enterprises LLC.
For her efforts, Ms. Travis began receiving recognition in 2016 and has been honored with two Silver American Business Awards in 2019 and 2018, as well as receiving an Aspioneer's Flying High Women Leaders Award. She attributes her success to perseverance, dedication and the guidance she received from her parents. Ms. Travis strives to offer her knowledge and experience to benefit her community and small businesses.
