After working as a civil deputy clerk for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for 10 years, Ms. Peaks decided to pursue a career in another aspect of law. Over the years, she gained valuable expertise in civil and foreclosure law, while dabbling in probate law with two popular law firms before becoming a Probate Deputy Clerk for the Delaware County Probate Court in 2011. In this capacity, she issues marriage licenses, receives and accepts filings, handles estate administration matters, reviews inventories and accounts, schedules hearings and remains abreast of attorney's deadlines. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of helping streamline processes in the Delaware County Probate Court.
An expert in her field, Ms. Peaks holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Ohio Dominican University, which she earned in 2008. In previous years, she remained aware of changes in the field through the National Association of Legal Support Staff. Dedicated to her community, she has given back through her church, First Church of God, The Delaware Arts Festival, Lawyers Christian Fellowship, New Beginnings Community Revitalization Organization, Center of Refugee Point of Impact, The Cumberland Ridge Civic Association, Habitat for Humanity, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, The Davis Family Reunions and the CWWT Family Reunions, among many other organizations.
In recognition of her professional achievements, Ms. Peaks received an Award of Excellence through the National Association of Legal Support Staff in 2003, she and her husband, Darrel were selected as Volunteer of the Year 2005, and Ms. Peaks was honored the Woman of Distinction Award through the Women's Ministry in 2019. Additionally, she was recognized by the First Church of God for her dedication to ministry. Looking toward to the future, Ms. Peaks intends to remain active in her family, church and community.
