Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than 15 years of educational experience to her credit, Ms. McCombs harbored a penchant for teaching from a young age. After initially planning on cultivating a future in business management, faced with unemployment as a result of the company that she was employed with relocating to Illinois, reaffirmed her decision to teach children after realizing that younger generations require a quality education to succeed. Inspired by her desire to prepare adolescents for the future, she resolved to pursue a career as a formal educator.
For more than 30 years, Ms. McCombs has contributed her expertise in both finance and teaching to multiple institutions and companies. From 1988 to 1999, she served as an account coordinator at Motorola Mobility LLC and an account manager for FG Montabert, which is currently a subsidiary company of RVL Incorporated. Since 1999, Ms. McCombs thrives under the jurisdiction of the Paterson Public School District. She has previously instructed hundreds of students in the subjects of mathematics and science, the former of which she currently teaches.
Owing to her proficiencies, Ms. McCombs has secured a position as Program Coordinator for the federal grant funded program, GEAR UP, and state grant funded program College Bound through the Urban Consortium at Passaic County Community College in Paterson. Moreover, she received recognition by attaining a Golden Apple Teacher Award and a Teacher of the Year Award. Likewise, she maintains civic responsibilities as a board trustee chair with the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hackensack, NJ.
Prior to her success, Ms. McCombs initially enrolled at Morgan State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management in 1988. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Arts in educational leadership and administration from William Paterson University of New Jersey in 2018. She retains membership with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Bergen County Alumnae Chapter and the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Delta Nu Chapter. Ms. McCombs plans to ascend the upper echelons of educational administration for the Paterson Public School District in the near future.
