Mr. Marencic is an esteemed interior designer who applies more than 30 years of innovation to his role as a studio head and design principal for JCJ Architecture, an award-winning architecture and design firm for Hospitality/Gaming and Institutional clients. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Mr. Marencic focused his studies on fine arts and interior design, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1981. In 2000, he obtained a NCIDQ certification, one of the industry's highest qualifications.
From 1987 to 2014, Mr. Marencic rose to the rank of principal at Daroff Design, a Philadelphia-based interior design and architecture firm with clients in the United States and China. During this time, he amassed a reputation for insightful and memorable projects for clients such as Disney, Marriott, Loews/Universal and Comcast. Mr. Marencic has excelled with JCJ Architecture since 2014, where he is responsible for studio, design and thought leadership for JCJ's work with over 64 different Native Nations Casinos and Hotels as well as multiple aviation concessions for SSP America at airports nationwide.
A leading voice in the field, Mr. Marencic maintains his active membership with the International Interior Design Association. As an advocate for interior design and fine arts, he participates in numerous international design symposia, exhibitions and competitions, including the Vitra Design Museum's Design a Perfect Chair for Barbie exhibition in 1995, Corian Bench Inventions in 2010 and Sandler Seating Venice Chair Competition, in which he placed first in 2016. Furthermore, Mr. Marencic is a volunteer with Citizen Diplomacy International, (formerly IVC), which recognized him and his wife, Sarah Vogt, for their contributions to the organization's mission with a Citizen Diplomacy Award in 1996.
