PEORIA, AZ, October 07, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Hunter, DDS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Hunter celebrates more than 30 years of private practice as the owner of Hunter Orthodontics, a comprehensive clinic providing braces and other maxillofacial interventions for patients of all ages. His interest in the field started in childhood; his family dentist was also a neighbor and friend, who encouraged him to explore various career paths. Initially unsure, Dr. Hunter eventually realized his dentist's influence on him, and decided to pursue a dental career with the hope of making the same positive impact upon his own patients. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia in 1983.
While in dental school, Dr. Hunter began to consider additional specialized education rather than becoming a general practitioner. While seeking treatment for his own dental problems, he was given the advice that it is often very satisfying to become an expert in one specialty area than to try to be an expert in several areas of dentistry. Therefore, he began to work and study in orthodontic clinics and knew that he found his calling. After three years of general practice dentistry through the University of North Carolina, Dr. Hunter enrolled in the graduate orthodontics program at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, which awarded him an orthodontic specialty certificate in 1989.
Since 1989, Dr. Hunter has been at the helm of Hunter Orthodontics, where he continues to see patients in addition to the responsibilities of managing the practice. He prides himself on integrating the latest in digital imaging technologies to provide accurate and predictable results for clients, and maintains a commitment to professional development and continuing education.
Dr. Hunter attributes his success to his desire to help others and a genuine satisfaction in seeing his patients' transformations. He has held leadership roles in numerous professional organizations, including terms as president of the Arizona State Orthodontic Society, Arizona Director of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and appointment to the board of directors of the Arizona Orthodontics Study Group. Likewise, he maintains membership with the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Central Arizona Dental Society, among a myriad of other prominent organizations.
In the coming years, Dr. Hunter looks forward to continuing in private practice, exploring the possibility of taking on an associate, and beginning to teach orthodontics for a local university as an adjunct professor. He attributes his profound success to support from his wife Susan, their four children and grandchildren, and his desire to help others.
