HUNTINGTON, WV, October 07, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Grace Komolafe has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Inspired by many members of her family, Dr. Komolafe was encouraged to enter the medical field. She began her medical education in Nigeria and completed it on the island of St. Lucia. As she started her clinical rotations, it was her first clinical rotation in family medicine, where she found her calling. This specialty allowed her to see a diverse patient population, build lasting relationships with her patients and their families, and treat multiple medical conditions. Her interest in emergency medicine has also been long-standing, as her mother is an Emergency Room nurse, and she would follow her to work on various occasions. Practicing in Emergency Medicine allowed her to continue to treat various medical conditions, but in a more urgent and fast-paced environment.
Over the years, Dr. Komolafe has gained valuable expertise in healthcare, Emergency Medicine, and leadership. She flourished in her Family Medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital, serving as their educational liaison. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine at Wheeling Hospital. In pursuit of her aspirations, Dr. Komolafe earned a Bachelor of Science in public health from Walden University, graduating summa cum laude. Her degree in Public Health is the foundation for her ongoing advocacy for underserved and at-risk populations.
Dr. Komolafe currently excels in multiple roles, including her work as an emergency physician at St. Mary's Medical Center, a telemedicine physician, and she also provides primary care by seeing patients both in the office and in their homes.
Dr. Komolafe remains aware of changes in the field through her alignment with the American Academy of Family Physicians. In the future, she aims to establish a multi-disciplinary primary care center. She intends to construct a center where patients feel empowered to become healthier through goal attainment.
