After learning about the rise in domestic violence issues through several news outlets, Ms. Jones was inspired to write about her own story, as she wanted people to know that domestic abuse is still a prevalent issue that has been occurring for decades. She subsequently authored several books reflecting her story, including "Scarred, but not Broken," "Life Goes on After the War," and "Silent Victims: Domestic Violence Does Not Discriminate." Likewise, Ms. Jones has excelled as a domestic violence advocate for over 5 years and recently established Domestic Violence LLC.
With Domestic Violence LLC, Ms. Jones strives to educate people on the impact that domestic violence can have on individuals as well as communities. She additionally hosts yearly formal gala events for guests to attend and fundraiser for the fight against domestic violence. For her charitable work in the community, Ms. Jones was featured in articles in Mansfield Magazine and Glambicious.
Ms. Jones previously earned an Associate of Arts from Wayne Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Mount Olive College and a Master of Arts in counseling and development from Texas Woman's University. She is also certified as a senior veterans' service representative for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Office (VARO). During her military service, Ms. Jones notably served in several leadership component while on active and reserve military, as a Motor Pool Sargent; as a training non commission officer (NCO), and as a line squad NCO, while deployed in Iraq and states side.
Additionally, Ms. Jones was presented with a plaque for her exemplary accomplishments and has been profiled by local news stations. She has attributed her professional success to persistence, determination and her mother, who is a very strong will woman. In the coming years, she hopes to become more proactive in charitable endeavors overseas. Ms. Jones would also like to speak on domestic violence at college and other organizations.
