Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Doles prematurely departed from his studies at Ohio University to care for his young family. Requiring monetary support for his family, he secured employment as a factory worker. Over the years, he worked in several roles without any indication of acquiring a promotion. After being passed over for a position, he inquired of the president of the company for his reasoning, Mr. Doles' superior justified that an employee with respect for education holds greater value than an employee without.
Subsequently, at the age of 25, Mr. Doles, while working a third shift and driving 90 miles daily, pursued his education at Indiana University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business in May 1972.
Following the conclusion of his academic efforts, Mr. Doles joined Cummins Engine in 1972 as a Supplier Quality Engineer finishing as the Director of Supply Mid-Range Engines in 1989. From 1989 to 2008, he contributed his expertise to Danaher in numerous capacities, eventually advancing to the post of the Vice President from 2001 to 2008. He further flourished as an Industry Expert in chair training for the U.S. Air Force at the University of Tennessee between 2006 and 2008. Moreover, Mr. Doles shared his valuable experience as an advisor and a Highly Qualified Expert in the United States Department of Defense's AFS021 program for the United States Air Force. As a testament to his exemplary accomplishments, he was presented with a Commendation from the Director of Business Transformation in 2010.
From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Doles excelled as the proprietor and manager of Don Doles LLC. In this capacity, he led and guided his clients' business through continuing processes of improvement. Beyond his primary responsibilities, he has contributed to the United Way on a volunteer basis as well as a member of Rotary International. After flourishing in several posts under the tutelage of his mentors throughout his tenure, Mr. Doles feels accomplished in offering guidance and consultation to younger generations.
Mr. Doles attributes his success to an unrelenting work ethic, perseverance and dedication. One of his most notable achievements includes the makeover of Danaher's Procurement process and creation of a Senior Executive Immersion program he helped create and facilitated within Danaher. As to the near future, Mr. Doles plans to establish a generational wealth fund for his family while setting a valiant example for the coming generations of his lineage.
