Leveraging his expertise as the director of the Office of Systems Integration with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, he is responsible for supervising the information technology project management office and the agency records management program. Mr. Bohorfoush also recently began serving as the director of the aforementioned departments' records management office in 2015, a position that is responsible for approximately 60,000 federal employees in matters related to records management.
Mr. Bohorfoush has also held noteworthy positions with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as an electronic records management team leader, the National Archives and Records Administration as a manager of its technical service's branch at the Center for Electronics Records, and several other posts with private organizations throughout Virginia and Maryland since 1982. An expert in electronic records management, particularly with the federal government and the states, he also excelled for more than 20 years as a financial advisor for the Archdioceses of Washington from 1998 to 2020. Mr. Bohorfoush's tenure with the aforementioned dioceses was a great way to contribute to the community and he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.
Mr. Bohorfoush initially became interested in the field while enrolled in high school. Having to take a test to be accepted into the school's data processing class, he received high marks and loved the subject. Upon his graduation, he pursued a higher education at the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 1982. Mr. Bohorfoush concluded his studies with a Master of Science in computer science at the Johns Hopkins University in 1989.
Moreover, Mr. Bohorfoush is certified as a federal records manager and an information technology infrastructure librarian. He notably credits several mentors for his success since that time, including Claire Barrett. To support his professional endeavors, he has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Association of Computing Machinery. Honored with several Performance Awards from the federal government throughout his career. Mr. Bohorfoush has been notably featured in the 25th and 26th editions of Who's Who in the East.
