BROOKFIELD, WI, October 08, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olga Y. Kaslow, MD, PhD, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. At the age of 14, Dr. Kaslow needed surgery for an appendicitis. She was living in a Siberian city where only local anesthesia (which means almost no anesthesia at all) was available. This prompted her interest in anesthesiology. She attended medical school in Moscow, Russia, receiving her MD and Ph.D. degrees. In 1994, Dr. Kaslow had to leave Russia in fear of prosecution for being Jewish and immigrated to the USA. She had to work hard to improve her English and start her medical career over again: her diplomas were not recognized in the U.S. After passing the required exams, she completed her Anesthesiology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Kaslow currently excels as a professor of anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Throughout her career, she has been incredibly grateful to work within the American medical system. Likewise, Dr. Kaslow has had access to the latest technologies and has been involved in the highest level of patient care and collaboration with some of the best doctors in the field. Dr. Kaslow considers her major accomplishment to be the creation of Division of Trauma Anesthesia at her hospital – a Level 1 trauma center.
As an accomplished medical professional, Dr. Kaslow was recognized among America's Best Doctors. She was additionally presented with an Excellence in Teaching Award. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kaslow would like to expand upon her awareness of her field while remaining dedicated as a medical educator.
