Since 1988, Mr. Crosby has excelled as the managing partner of Gibson, McAskill & Crosby LLP, within which he specializes in product liability and commercial litigation. He previously graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Arts in history and philosophy. Having obtained his undergraduate degree, Mr. Crosby shifted his interests toward a legal career, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Fordham University School of Law in 1970.
From 1971 until 1974, Mr. Crosby served his country on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Captain, and continued in the Reserves, ultimately retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He began his legal career in 1974 at Damon, Morey, Sawyer & Moot, where he began developing a reputation for excellence as a trial lawyer, handling defense of product liability and medical malpractice cases. Helping to establish Gibson McAskill & Crosby LLP in 1988, Mr. Crosby has continued his work as a trial attorney with a focus on automotive product liability, complex commercial, and catastrophic personal injury cases, and has litigated throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
In recognition of his legal excellence, Mr. Crosby was selected as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1996 and was designated as a Regent from 2002 until 2006. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and has been awarded an AV Preeminent Peer Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Crosby has additionally been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for twenty-five consecutive years, as well as an Upstate New York Super Lawyer.
Mr. Crosby credits an early mentor, trial lawyer Mike Gibson, with helping him develop his courtroom skills, and considers his influence instrumental to his career growth. As a prominent member of his community, Mr. Crosby is a member of the Board of Trustees of Niagara University, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Kaleida Health System and the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York.
