While in pursuit of an Associate of Arts in business at Enterprise State Community College (formerly known as Enterprise Junior College) in Alabama, Mr. Harrell gained valuable expertise in the retail industry and dedicated himself to the United States Army Reserve. After meeting his wife and moving to Birmingham, Alabama, he worked in a number of retail stores, including Tom James Company, where he excelled as a sales professional from 1999 to 2004. A seasoned, hard-working businessman, he liaised with professionals looking to make a good impression through their clothing. Whether customers wanted service in home or in the workplace, Mr. Harrell offered custom clothing for even the most particular clientele.
Backed by his retail experiences, Mr. Harrell now serves as owner of MH Custom Clothiers in Alabama. Since establishing the company in 2004, he has worked with professional men and women with an appreciation for fine clothing, as well as those who are hard to fit, offering sport coats, suits, shirts, shoes and more casual clothing such as polo shirts and trousers. With respect for the busy schedules of his clients, he travels throughout Alabama and Mississippi for work and conducts most of the work himself, negating the need for a middleman and saving time.
In light of his professional knowledge, Mr. Harrell has partnered with the University of Alabama at Birmingham in recent years, teaching graduate students about the importance of business attire. Though he has experienced much throughout his career, he is especially proud of maintaining his company through the economic recession of 2008. Devoted to his community, he gives back during his spare time through Camp Smile for children with cancer. Looking ahead, Mr. Harrell intends to offer more casual clothing through MH Custom Clothiers, expand the brand through social media and open additional offices.
