SAINT FRANCIS, WI, October 13, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sarah Salisott has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Along with her wife, Alexandra, Mrs. Salisott started a family through the foster care system. Within months of beginning the process, they welcomed two children whom they fostered for a brief time. After changing agencies, they focused on aiding teenage girls with mental health challenges and have since welcomed a pre-teen and a teenager into their home. They have since adopted their teenage daughter who is currently attending college in state. Throughout the fostering process, Mrs. Salisott and her wife have come across a number of obstacles that they wanted to help others avoid.
Mrs. Salisott established The Foster Lane in 2016 in order to help turn her aspirations into reality. More than 70 percent of the parents she encounters are biological parents working toward reunification while the remainder are adoptive parents, foster parents and kinship providers. Although she maintains two offices in Wisconsin, Ms. Salisott has operated mostly virtually since the emergence of COVID-19.
As an owner and a Certified Parent Coach® with The Foster Lane, Mrs. Salisott guides parents and caregivers through a variety of challenging circumstances, including developmental and mental delays, mental health struggles, bedtime, trauma reactions and co- parent interactions, among others. She excels in working with parents and children in an array of areas due to having lived with and learned with children with attachment trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, oppositional defiance disorder, reactive attachment disorder and attention deficit disorder. Dedicated to aiding these parents and children in the best way possible, Mrs. Salisott has also consumed nearly 1,500 hours of content regarding trauma, attachment, brain development and parent child interactions.
An expert in her field, Mrs. Salisott earned an associate degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, completed the graduate level certification through the Parent Coach Institute®, which partners with Seattle Pacific University, and has completed the first phase in the process to become a Theraplay™ practitioner. Currently, she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications through her alma mater that she hopes to complete in 2021 as well as continuing in the supervision process to increase skill and abilities in the Theraplay modality.
Outside of her primary responsibilities, she and her wife continue to contribute to the less fortunate through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Looking ahead, Mrs. Salisott aims to pursue additional certifications in areas like trauma, as well as different approaches to working with children.
