Mr. Doubek is a pharmacist, entrepreneur and the chief executive officer of Doubek Medical Supply. Hailing from a long family tradition in medicine, with both his father and uncle excelling as pharmacists, he recalls having harbored an interest in the profession since coming of age. As a teen, Mr. Doubek began working for his uncle's pharmacy, cementing his desire to pursue a medical education, and inspiring his dreams of business ownership.
In 1959, Mr. Doubek graduated from the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science with additional postgraduate coursework. The following year, he opened a pharmacy, which he operated successfully for a decade before pivoting to focus on medical supplies in 1970. Operating as Doubek Medical Supply, the business would continue to grow, offering personal service and a range of home health, ambulatory, rehabilitative, respiratory and diabetic supplies to institutional and private customers across the country.
Doubek Medical Supply remains a family-owned company with three generations of investment. While Mr. Doubek has transitioned out of handling day-to-day management functions in recent years, he currently serves as the chairperson of the board, primarily focusing on expansion, business strategy and customer retention. He attributes his success to a forward-thinking approach to the industry, and prioritizing customer satisfaction over immediate profit. Mr. Doubek is a proud alumni supporter of the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy and Hillsdale College, a member of the Illinois Pharmacists Association and the National Association of Retail Pharmacy, and a past president of the Westlawn Chamber of Commerce.
