Having accrued more than four decades of expertise, Mr. Wade has garnered a laudable reputation as the in-house counsel of Douglas County Individual Practice Association Inc. since 2018. The company notably serves physicians throughout Douglas County, Oregon, in the field of medical care. Mr. Wade formerly distinguished himself as a private practice attorney who recently as a shareholder for Doyle Gartland Nelson McCleery & Wade in Eugene between 1996 and 2015.
During his two decades with the aforementioned firm, Mr. Wade advised clients in both the private and nonprofit sectors from formation of the business, to arbitration and trial of construction, real estate, bankruptcy and other areas of the law. He spent another two years as a shareholder with McCleery & Wade in Eugene between 2015 and 2016, a practice that focused on many similar issues. Among his other noteworthy roles, Mr. Wade served for four years as a staff attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice between 1977 and 1981.
Well-respected in his field, Mr. Wade found success as a judge pro tempore for the small claims division of the Los Angeles Municipal Court between 1987 and 1992. He later taught as an adjunct associate professor of law at the University of Oregon between 2005 and 2009. However, of all the opportunities he had to serve throughout his career, Mr. Wade is most proud of the mentorship he provided to eight professionals, all women or people of color, who went on to become high achievers in their respective fields.
Mr. Wade received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, at Harvard College in 1973 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, at Harvard Law School in 1976. He has been admitted to practice law by the California (no longer active), New York, and Oregon State Bars, the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, among others. As part of his commitment to his community, Mr. Wade maintained involvement as the president of the Metropolitan Rotary Club, the Lane County Legal Aid Service Board and the Maude Kerns Art Center Board.
Mr. Wade has been aligned as a member of the Oregon State Bar, where he was elected as the president. He also chaired the budget and finance committee, among other responsibilities. Celebrated for his success, Mr. Wade has been named to America's Top 100 High Stakes Litigators for 2018 and is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
