NEW YORK, NY, October 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carol Ann Joyce, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Joyce celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Joyce is a mental health clinical specialist in private practice who has been working in New York City her entire professional career. Educated in nursing and mental health, she devotes her career to helping clients achieve balance, either through psychotherapy and dreamwork or through hypnosis via rapid transformational therapy. Her extensive education, combined with advanced therapeutic modalities, psychotherapy and deep dreamwork, enable her to help others learn how to deconstruct concepts that are no longer helpful in their daily lives.
As an expert in her field, Dr. Joyce served as a consultant in addiction aftercare to rehabilitation centers in Florida between 1986 and 1989. She also served as a clinical specialist in the alcoholism program at Saint Vincent's Medical Center in New York City and as a therapist for the Children's Aid Society, also in New York City.
Prior to working in mental health, Dr. Joyce was a nun. Leaving the sisterhood because she had, perhaps, entered too young, before she had discovered her passion in life, she decided to return to school. As part of her doctoral work, she had the opportunity to study coping patterns of women who were employed outside of the home. Intrigued by what those patterns looked like over time, as well as the scientific aspects, Dr. Joyce had found her new calling: the exploration of the authentic deep inner feminine energy and masculine agency as they evolve consciously.
Dr. Joyce has authored professional articles in peer-reviewed journals in her area of expertise and has presented papers at dream conferences. She has developed workshops in conscious femininity, which she has presented for women in the creative arts. She has also used her creative side to write and perform in a play, which was directed by Gretchen Cryer and appeared off Broadway. She has composed numerous songs that she uses in her practice with clients. Dr. Joyce aspires to publish several of her books in the coming years and continue researching women in various aspects of their lives.
Active in her community, Dr. Joyce gives back as a volunteer with the Catholic Church of Holy Trinity in New York as a trustee on the Financial Advisory Council. She formerly served on the board of the Phil Esposito Hockey Foundation.
An alumna of Boston College, Dr. Joyce received a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1969. She then pursued additional studies, completing a Master of Arts in nursing in 1974 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a focus on adult mental health nursing in 1986 at New York University. She is a registered nurse, certified rapid transformational therapist, certified hypnotist, clinical specialist in adult mental health, and a certified group psychotherapist.
Dr. Joyce supports her career through membership with several prominent organizations, including the International Association for the Study of Dreams and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and the Songwriters Guild of America.
In recognition of her achievements, Dr. Joyce received a Top Medal for Nursing Clinician at Boston College. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been cited in over 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
