NORTH FORT MYERS, FL, October 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Neil Della Torre has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Della Torre is an esteemed civil servant who celebrated more than 30 years of administrative leadership for the Township of East Hanover, New Jersey prior to his retirement. A native of New Jersey, he pursued an education at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, before beginning his career as a recreation field assistant for the East Hanover Department of Parks and Recreation. Mr. Della Torre credits a local police officer, Frankie Daly, whom he remembers as "like a brother to him," for inspiring him to pursue a career in the public sector by setting an example of volunteerism and commitment to local youth services projects.
After working his way up from a facilities assistant, Mr. Della Torre was appointed as the superintendent of East Hanover's Department of Parks and Recreation, a role he held for the next 20 years. Throughout his career, he developed a reputation for outstanding service and a proactive approach to community development that led him to become the township's superintendent of public services. In this position, he was responsible for supervising programs benefiting adults with intellectual disabilities, chemical dependency and drug and alcohol education programs, and the day-to-day operations of numerous municipal departments. In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Della Torre remained active in the development and implementation of the state's first-time offender diversion program.
In 1986, Mr. Della Torre was honored by the state of New Jersey and was celebrated as the Employee of the Year in recognition of his accomplishments in township administration and his work in parks and recreation. He retired in 2004 after more than 30 years of exemplary service, a success that he credits to his strong professional and community relationships in addition to the hard work of his team of employees and volunteers. In his retirement, Mr. Della Torre volunteers with Saint Jude's Hospital from his new home in Florida, and has become an avid golfer.
