A native of Germany, Dr. Von Bose worked throughout the initial stages of his career as an attending physician in the intensive care unit of the department of cardiology at Stådt Krankenhaus Bogenhausen in Munich. He subsequently spent another four years as a medical consultant for Swiss Re before relocating to the U.S. to advance his career. Affiliated with several prominent industry organizations as a commitment to his field, Dr. Von Bose is most notably a fellow of the Association of Resuscitation Training in Germany where he has maintained involvement as the chairperson since 1994. He was also a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine.
Apart from his tenure in medicine, Dr. Von Bose was an adjunct assistant professor in the department of emergency medicine at George Washington University from 1999 to 2001. He also served as an advanced cardiac life support instructor for the American Heart Association and was a course director at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 1993 to 2002. As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Von Bose has contributed articles to numerous national and international scholarly journals, and was the co-author of a 1996 manual on personality disorder examination.
Dr. Von Bose studied at Ludwig-Maximilian University, where he received a Doctor of Medicine in 1978, shortly after serving as a lieutenant in the German Navy between 1969 and 1972. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include a residency in the department of surgery at University Hospitals in Munich, in anesthesiology at Krecke Hospital in Munich, in surgery at Brooklyn-Cumberland Medical Center in New York City and Jersey City Medical Center, and in neurology and psychiatry at Stådt Krankenhaus Bogenhausen in Munich. Dr. Von Bose became a licensed medical doctor in Boston in the U.S. in 1982.
Dr. Von Bose secured a grant from the Laerdal Foundation in Norway in 1994. He previously received a scholarship from the Max-Planck Society in Munich between 1987 and 1990.
