Inspired to help shape the future in a positive way, Janae Graham pursued a career in the law. Ms. Graham earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in May 2018. That same year, as a member of KU Law's Moot Court Council, Ms. Graham placed second in the nation at Tulane University's Sports Law Competition. From working as Senior Associate Counsel for Home Credit US, LLC, the U.S.-arm of one of the largest consumer finance organizations in the world to founding her own law firm, Graham Law, LLC, Ms. Graham has been lucky to experience many different aspects of the law in a relatively short amount of time.
Ms. Graham worked for Home Credit US, LLC from May 2017 through October 2020. During that time, Ms. Graham participated in the researching, and overseeing implementation of various portions of the legal and regulatory aspects of credit card servicing operations, variable payment options for underwriting and closed-end loan product development. Ms. Graham has extensive experience coordinating with business and functional stakeholders and liaising with sales, marketing, product, and information technology teams on a consistent basis.
Prior to her position as Senior Associate Counsel with Home Credit US, Ms. Graham gained valuable competence in the law while working as Home Credit US' previous Associate Counsel, Law Clerk and initially, as Law Clerk Intern during law school. Since 2017, she has worked closely with Home Credit US' executive team, General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsel to mitigate risk and negotiate documents and contracts to ensure the highest levels of quality and accuracy and the lowest levels of liability. In addition to her work with Home Credit US, Ms. Graham has devoted herself to pro-bono work with the Missouri Medical Marijuana movement and veterans association advocates encouraging the same.
Ms. Graham currently resides in Holden, Missouri with her husband, Benjamin Danial Graham, her son, Dallon Howard Graham and her daughter, Delilah Janae (DJ) Graham. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, she stays up to date with continuing legal education requirements of Missouri and Kansas and aligns herself with the Kansas City Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Looking toward the future, Ms. Graham intends to pursue independent practice in Missouri and expand her knowledge of the law.
