WANTAGH, NY, October 30, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary Ojeda has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now celebrated for his considerable educational work with disabled children, Mr. Ojeda initially earned a Bachelor of Arts from Long Island University. Drawing upon multiple scholarships, he earned a Masters of Arts in "learning disabilities" and a Masters of Science in "speech and language pathology" from Columbia University. Continually growing in his profession, Mr. Ojeda is also certified for public school teaching in special education, bilingual education, and speech and language disabilities. He is currently a licensed clinician and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Mr. Ojeda attributes his occupational trajectory to his work at the Bay Ridge Preparatory School. Interested in special education, his decision to specialize in Speech and Language disabilities was influenced by his wish to be better-equipped for helping students with language disorders. A formative component of the school's special education program, Mr. Ojeda found that his wish to help that particular population expanded with his education and experience. In 2006, Mr. Ojeda became a speech teacher with the New York City Department of Education, where he continues working to the present day. He has also founded and served as a speech and language pathologist with Procare NYC since 2008.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Ojeda's concentration has been focused toward using language therapy as a means to build literacy. Passionate about continuing to help the special education population, he hopes to continue building his approach toward reading intervention through continued research.
