PEOA, UT, November 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fernando Ramirez has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
At just 8 years old, Mr. Ramirez began running sled dogs and knew that he wanted to remain active in the sport for the rest of his life. Over the years, he adopted many sled dogs in pursuit of his dream and established Rancho Luna Lobos in 2010. The rescue and rehabilitation program, specializing in Nordic breeds, ensures that every dog that passes through its door gets to live his or her best life. Many of the rescues that make their way to Rancho Luna Lobos come from abusive backgrounds; therefore, it can take years to work through their trauma. However, with an abundance of patience, time and love, they can heal.
If a dog enjoys running, Mr. Ramirez and the staff at Rancho Luna Lobos fosters that passion into dog sledding, training them to run with a team. However, for those who do not enjoy it, the staff ensures that every dog lives its best life. At the ranch, they offer tours year-round centered around education. Every dime they make through tours goes back into operating and caring for their rescue dogs. Additionally, any money made from races goes into their nonprofit organization, Sledding for Hope, which further trains each dog to reach their potential. In 2022, one of their dogs, Humberto, a blind dog that is currently being trained as a lead dog, will lead the team for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, an annual long-distance sled dog race run from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska.
In light of his outstanding work in the field, Mr. Ramirez earned the Best of Utah Award for winter recreation and best animal treatment. Through Trip Advisor, Rancho Luna Lobos was honored as Travelers' Choice. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ramirez intends to win a world championship with his rescue dogs. Ultimately, he also aims to establish an academy with his rescue dogs so that he can work with at-risk youth and develop a therapy program involving his rescues.
