In his current post, Dr. El Hendawy provides leadership and direction to the board of the school while also maintaining responsibility for the aforementioned school's strategic initiatives.
Alongside his work as a distinguished legal educator, Dr. El Hendawy excels as an Associate and Advisor for SUNSGLOW, (The Center for) "'the Study of the United Nations Systems and the Global Legal Order", which was launched to foster the globalization of the rule of law. He is additionally active as a secretary of the Middle East Rule of Law Dialogue Planning Committee. Dr. El Hendawy is also affiliated with the NatLaw (National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade), supporting the governments of the Americas in the development of standard practices of certain aspects of NAFTA.
As a notable law scholar, Dr. El Hendawy contributes to the legal field through scholarship and the establishment of law schools worldwide. While an expert arbitrator and judge in resolving commercial disputes, he supported arbitral bodies within several trade associations. Dr. El Hendawy continues to serve in varying roles in developing the legal educational system within the Middle East universities. Dr. El Hendawy contributed to the British University in Egypt, with which he established the university's first Law School in the English language in collaboration with London Southbank University. Throughout his career, he has provided his wealth of knowledge to the editorial boards of several publications. Additionally, Dr. El Hendawy has authored such works as 'The Standardization of Contracts Based on Best Practices," and "International Letters of Credit-Resolving Conflicts of Laws".
Dedicated to the pursuit of higher education, Dr. El Hendawy became the second graduate in International Trade & Business Law in the history of the James E. Rogers School of Law where he earned an S.J.D. (Scientiae Juridicae Doctor) with honors. He also earned a Master of Laws in Comparative Legal Systems from Pace Law School (New York). In order to remain aware of ongoing developments in the legal landscape, he retains his professional alignment with the New York State Bar Association and the International Bar Association. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Dr. El Hendawy has contributed to the industry at large as well, including his contributions as a law judge for CLEP (College Level Examination Program).
Dr. El Hendawy has consistently funded the education of those in need through scholarships. In light of hi professional excellence, he was honored with the Distinguished Scholar Award from the New York School of Management & Technology's Research Center for International Business & Trade in 2019. Looking ahead. Dr. El Hendawy intends to help foster the New York School of Management & Technology's reputation within the legal community while continuing to present scholarships to disadvantaged students.
