BOSTON, MA, November 10, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joseph David Reno with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Reno celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Reno has been employed as a police clerk for the Boston Police Department for the past 36 years since 1983. Many years later, in 1998, he began serving as a public relations professional for the Hackney Unit of the Boston Police Headquarters. He formerly taught within the Boston school system between 1979 and 1983 and was a computer operator and consultant for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston between 1978 and 1981. In previous years, Mr. Reno was an investigative reporter for the New England Business Journal, a research assistant for the New England Historical Genealogy Society, and a security guard for Pinkertons, all of which are located in the heart of Boston.
The co-author of "Secret New England" in 1991, Mr. Reno also authored articles in The Investigative Reporters and Editors Journal during 1986 and was a Herbert O. Yardley biography research assistant for Dr. David Kahn during 1995. Furthermore, Mr. Reno served as a lecturer for the Speech-Mystery Writers of America during 1996.
Enjoying a very diverse career, Mr. Reno contributes his success to lifelong learning. Fortunate to have had two educated parents who would always answer his very curious questions, they would often take him to the library as a child so that he could do his own research. Since that time, he notably researched the history of Clarence Gideon, a poor drifter and amateur attorney accused in a Florida state court of felony theft, and Keith Ellison, the first Muslim member of Congress.
Mr. Reno is a longstanding member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Coalition of Independent Scholars, the Investigative Reporters Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Writers Union, among other organizations. He formerly served on the union negotiating committee and as secretary for Service Employees International. He is currently a member of the electronic library New England chapter and longtime secretary and board of directors member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. The association honored him with a David Atlee Philips New England Chapter Award in 1989.
Serving on the board of directors of the National Association of HUD Tenants in 1997, Mr. Reno was also a panelist for the National Low Income Housing Coalition during 1998 and the National Alliance of HUD Tenants national convention during 1999.
Mr. Reno has been showcased in the 27th edition of Who's Who in the East. He has held a Bachelor of Science in mass communications from Emerson College since 1973 and a Master of Arts in communications studies from Emerson College since 1994. He later completed postgraduate coursework at the University of Massachusetts and Northeastern University and is certified in legal studies through the University of Massachusetts, computer applications through Northeastern University and screenwriting through Emerson College.
Married to Anna Elizabeth Thal since 1994, Mr. Reno and his wife reside in Boston. In his free time, he enjoys several hobbies, including collecting various books, attending the theater and traveling.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Joseph David Reno has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
