She also successfully launched her own company, Super Parenting LLC, as the co-founder, vice president and chief financial officer, which serves as a resource to parents everywhere seeking expert advice. Renowned for her insight and ability to teach, guide and influence parents, Dr. Scott boasts decades of expertise and is highly educated in her field.
Establishing Super Parenting LLC with her daughter, Olympia Ranee Scott, who functions as the co-founder, president and chief executive officer, Dr. Scott and she work diligently to provide parents with necessary resources. These resources, which include the fundamentals of discipline, morals and values, offer methods of better leadership within the home so that children can grow up to lead productive lives in society. Super Parenting LLC disseminates these resources in various ways, including online parenting classes and seminars as well as reading materials.
A talented writer, Dr. Scott notably co-authored "Super Parenting Raising the Next Generation" with her daughter in 2011. In their first parenting book, the two authors discuss the "Super Parenting" philosophy and provide an overview for parents to follow to improve their skills. Dr. Scott later authored "Spiritual Awakening: Look What Happen to Me. Is it Happening to You Too?" in 2014, which gives insight to one's own spiritual journey.
In addition to consulting and managing her business, Dr. Scott has been active in lecturing in the Los Angeles Community College District since 1997. She has also found success as an associate professor at Santa Monica College since 1999. In years past, Dr. Scott's diverse career history has included such roles as an Assistant Vice President for Crocker Bank that merged with Wells Fargo Bank, an assistant area development director for United Negro College Fund, a partner and consultant for Diversified Event Planners Inc. and both a project business manager and division senior business administrator for TRW Inc.
A community leader for many years, Dr. Scott has been affiliated with numerous non-profit organizations, including the American Red Cross as both a volunteer and a parenting instructor. She has also served in various capacities with TRW Inc., including on the youth motivation task force, the affirmative action committee and the employees' charitable organization. Additionally, Dr. Scott was associated with the National Black Child Development Institute as a member of the Los Angeles chapter and the Adolescent Pregnancy Child Watch as a member of the board of directors.
To support her profession, Dr. Scott has flourished as a sponsor for Black Women's Forum. She is also a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has additionally been aligned with Jack and Jill of America, Inc. as a lifetime member was the founder of its leadership development program during her term as the former national program director, She was also a former Far West Reginal Director and Chapter President of the South Los Angeles Chapter and is currently an associate member. Dr. Scott has represented the aforementioned organization as a liaison for its young black scholars' program in 1986.
Dr. Scott initially studied at Los Angeles City College, from which she earned an Associate of Art in theater arts in 1970. Soon thereafter, she graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1973. She subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration at Golden Gate University in 1979 and a Doctor of Education at Pepperdine University in 1999. Likewise, Dr. Scott holds multiple certifications in her field.
Recognized numerous times for her leadership and expertise, Dr. Scott was presented with Commendation Awards from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1985, the United Negro College Fund in 1986, the United Way in 1988, the Autistic Children's Telephone in 1980 and the Inglewood School District in 1981. She was further honored with a President's Award from Harbor Area Chapter Links Inc. in 1985, a Women of Achievement Award from Los Angeles Association of Black Personnel in 1994 and the Part-Time Faculty Member of the Year State Award from the Faculty Association of Community Colleges of California (FACCC) in 2016. Featured in Who's Who of Black Los Angeles from 2009 to 2011, Dr. Scott has been additionally profiled in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
