ARLINGTON, TX, November 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Natt has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After graduating from Sydney University in Australia with a Bachelor of Science, Mr. Natt applied for a position as a statistician with Reader's Digest. Upon being told he was overqualified for the post, he was offered a role in computer programming instead, which led to his being trained by IBM. Three years after joining Reader's Digest, Mr. Natt was offered a programming role with American Airlines in the USA, with whom he spent the majority of his career working in technical programming positions and information technology management.
After ultimately leaving American Airlines, Mr. Natt worked in similar positions with several different companies in the USA, including Sabre Inc., Hewlett Packard and DXC Technology. Between 2002 and 2009 he also found success back in Australia working in the IT organizations for a large nationwide retailer David Jones Limited and the Catholic Schools Office, the educational arm of the Diocese of Broken Bay. In his position with the Catholic Schools Office he was responsible for providing IT service management to a large computer network that included 43 schools and various other organizations in the Diocese. Mr. Natt retired in 2017.
Reflecting back on his extensive career, Mr. Natt is particularly proud of working on two international projects. During the early 1990s, he was a prominent member of a management team that collaborated with the French National Railway, SNCF, in establishing a train reservations system that was based on the American Airlines reservations system, an effort that required extensive modifications to American's system in order to support a train environment. Another career highlight was helping a company in Moscow install a version of the American Airlines system to enable them to market reservations system capabilities to various airlines formed following the breakup of the Soviet Union. Mr. Natt provided project management services for this project and managed the testing effort. He received a commendation from the head of the Moscow company for his exemplary efforts.
Driven to further his industry expertise, Mr. Natt obtained several certifications during his career, including ITIL service management and recognition by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional. He was invited on multiple occasions to give presentations to airline industry groups and served on a microcomputing task force established by the International Air Transport Assocation (IATA). Mr. Natt was also a long time member of Toastmasters International and attained the level of an Able Toastmaster. He intends to enjoy his retirement while reflecting on his career and all that he has accomplished.
