PEORIA, AZ, November 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Regina Brooks has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Brooks is renowned as a medical billing and coding specialist and educator currently working in private consulting. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in management and technology from DeVry University in 2019 after having been certified as a professional coder certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders in 2011. Ms. Brooks attributes her success to God, and considers herself blessed with a sharp memory and a thirst for knowledge that has propelled her to where she is today.
Prior to beginning her career in HIPAA compliance and medical billing, Ms. Brooks flourished in a nearly 30 year career as a senior staff accountant working with several California-based firms. She joined Ivertex as Customer Care Manager from 1999 until 2011, managing technical support for more than 800 clients across 49 states. While working in accounting, Ms. Brooks realized that she had a natural gift for teaching others, and taught medical billing and coding at Carrington College from 2012 to 2015, at which point she was designated as the school's campus medical billing and coding program director in both New Mexico and Arizona.
Ms. Brooks remained active with Carrington College until 2019, at which point she retired to focus on consulting in medical claims transmissions software development as well as billing and coding. Before dedicating herself to consulting full-time, she consulted for Desert Kids Pediatrics PLC from 2014 to 2015. In the coming years, she hopes to return to school to complete her master's degree. In the meantime, she will be returning to the classroom in late 2020.
Ms. Brooks is an active volunteer for Streetlight USA, an organization providing intervention, housing, and support services for victims of child sex trafficking.
