Becoming involved in the communications industry due to the influence of his father, Mr. Berning is a distinguished entrepreneur and marketing specialist who has served as the founder and owner of Velocity Agency since 2012 and the president of Berning Marketing LLC since 2004. At the inception of his career in 1995, he served as an executive director of photography and freelance director of photography, positions he held for 17 years. During his tenure in the field, he attended the University of New Orleans, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and media studies in 2002. The same year, he also completed coursework in motion picture production and film production at the University of Miami.
Dipping his toes into other media endeavors, Mr. Berning has served as the producer and director of the Slap Ya Mama TV Campaign since 2014. Equally passionate about his community, he is a past producer and fund raiser of the New Orleans Mission Women's Shelter of 10 years, and he further produced content annually for the United Way. Impressively, he designed and built the Duck Tap Pop-Up Store in Times Square in New York City for one month of retail operations in 2013. Likewise, he maintains affiliation as a board member of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and a member of the American Advertising Federation.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to communications, Mr. Berning received the Gold Addy Award in 1998 and 2008. The Silicon Review named his business the Fastest Growing Digital Agency, and the New Orleans Advertising Club named him Advertising Person of the Year in 2008.
