CINCINNATI, OH, December 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present David W. Allen with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Allen celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An award-winning graphic designer, Mr. Allen is the former vice president and creative director of the Jaap-Orr Company in Cincinnati, having managed the design and graphics department of the marketing and advertising company for 13 years, until 2012. He is also the former owner of Allen & Associates, a successful freelance advertising and graphic design firm in Waynesville, Ohio, having held his position between 1989 and 1998. Specializing in providing a range of services, from graphic design and copy writing to creating advertising campaigns and promotions, his clients included such companies as Reynolds and Reynolds, Irongate Realtors and Riten Industries, to name only a few. Mr. Allen's industry experience also included high level positions in Dayton, Ohio, as the vice president and creative director for McNally Communications, the art director for Applied Communications and the art director and production manager for Weir McBride Advertising.
After leaving the corporate sector, Mr. Allen leveraged his expertise to establish Greenbird LLC. After conducting much research and discovering the impact that global warming and other environmental issues were having on wild bird habitats, his successful venture included designing several unique, environmentally-friendly birdhouse products, including recycled, biodegradable paperboard birdhouse and other sustainable materials. These birdhouses, which can be crafted together by children and adults alike, can also be accompanied by several of Mr. Allen's other green products, such as seed pies, nesting material boxes and milk paint kits. As the sole employee of Greenbird LLC, he currently oversees all aspects of the business, from advertising and handling the books to maintaining his website and fulfilling orders.
In the coming years, Mr. Allen aspires to continue working and make a difference. He also plans to commit to ongoing freelance design products for other companies. Among his civic achievements, he served as a past president of the Waynesville Chamber of Commerce, the Waynesville Area Rotary and Jaycees. Likewise, he maintained involvement as the chairperson of the Ohio Sauerkraut Festival during 1995. To contribute on a wider scale, Mr. Allen has volunteered his time to the American Cancer Society and the Voice of Hope Ministries Inc.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Allen was fortunate to participate in a design program while studying in high school. Students were able to participate in the program for half of the school day, while taking general education classes during the remaining half. Following his graduation, Mr. Allen attended the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration with a minor in advertising in 1971.
In 2020, Mr. Allen was selected for a Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award and was recognized with the WCH Native Earns Award for his company by Record Herald. Greenbird LLC was also recognized with the Best of Cincinnati Award in 2019, a highly coveted award for business and efforts that have a substantial impact the environment. Additionally, Mr. Allen was featured for Three-Way Hip Tips and Tidbits for September by Cincinnati Magazine in 2008.
