NEW YORK, NY, December 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Stephanie R. Cooper with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Cooper celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, Ms. Cooper commenced her career as a concert and chamber music pianist. She then became the founding director and president of Cooper-Grant Inc., a media and press relations company, which she managed for five years. During her tenure at Cooper-Grant, former Prime Minister Harold Macmillan asked her to direct the North American publication of Macmillan Publishers Ltd of London's epoch-making, 20-volume Grove's Dictionary of Music & Musicians, and she was thereafter credited with bringing the company's sales of the Dictionary in North America to number one worldwide. Her work at Cooper-Grant led her to attend law school and she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with honors as an Alexander Fellow and a Belkin Scholar. Cardozo invited her to teach Legal Writing as an Adjunct Professor upon her graduation, and she later extended her teaching to Sarah Lawrence with a course that she designed and presented for undergraduate and graduate students in Legal and Business Issues for Artists in All Disciplines. Immediately upon her law school graduation she was admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts.
Ms. Cooper first became an associate at Edwards & Angell in New York City and subsequently worked as an associate at Burrows, Poster & Franzblau, and later Janvey Gordon. Ms. Cooper eventually served Of Counsel for Moses & Singer LLP, before establishing Cooper & Associates in 2001, where she now serves as the principal attorney.
Ms. Cooper served on the Board of Trustees at Sarah Lawrence College for 12 years, and she is a member of the Board's External Affairs Committee. For her service to the Board of the college, she received an Alumni Citation for Service in 2015 from Sarah Lawrence College. She serves as the chairperson of her local Tenants' Association at her residence. Simon & Schuster released Ms. Cooper's book "Get Your Back in Shape" in the U.S. in 1984, and Thorson's published the work in Britain in 1985. She enjoys chamber music, writing and painting.
