An acclaimed figure in his profession, Dr. Rauch has found success as the founding partner and managing partner of the Evan Law Group, LLC, in Chicago since 2004, where he specializes in intellectual property law for both domestic and international clients. A former partner of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP from 2002 to 2004, he was also a shareholder of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione from 1999 to 2002 and a partner of Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, P.C., from 1993 to 1999. Early in his career, Dr. Rauch was interested in the sciences, and served as a graduate research assistant in chemistry at Cornell University from 1987 to 1991 and a research assistant in chemistry at Rom and Haas Company in 1986.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Dr. Rauch pursued an education at Oberlin College in Ohio, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1986 with high honors. Obtaining both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy from Cornell University in 1988 and 1991, respectively, he later achieved a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from George Washington University in 1998. Moreover, Dr. Rauch served as a postdoctoral research associate at Harvard University from 1992 to 1993 and a postdoctoral research associate of chemistry at the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, from 1991 to 1992.
With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Rauch has developed international patent portfolios in several industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, device manufacturing, medical devices and food processing. Beyond his primary responsibilities in his field, he holds professional affiliations with a number of relevant organizations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the Association of University Technology Managers, the Illinois State Bar Association, Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.
In recognition of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Rauch was presented with the Wentink Prize for Outstanding Research from Cornell University and the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Scholastic Excellence in Property Law from George Washington University in 1996. Although his career has been abound with highlights, he is especially proud of maintaining and building Evan Law Group, and thriving through the recession and the coronavirus pandemic. Looking toward the future, he intends to expand his law firm to further serve clients in developing intellectual property assets, to advance their businesses.
