SANTA FE, NM, December 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Everett I. Zlatoff-Mirsky with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky is a retired concert violinist and concertmaster whose career has spanned more than three decades of creative excellence. Displaying a talent for music while coming of age, he drew a wealth of inspiration from his father, an opera singer and fine artist. By the age of seven, he began singing in a church choir, and extensively studied the piano and violin. When it became apparent that his adult vocal range would not suit the demands of professional-level performance, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky shifted his focus to the violin, and continued his musical studies at Roosevelt University, where he would earn a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky pursued freelance work as a session musician, soloist and orchestral ensemble player. Through the 1960s, he excelled as a faculty member at Roosevelt University, and a soloist for the Bach Society, as well as for the Lexington String Quartet. Playing an instrumental role in establishing the Music of the Baroque ensemble in 1971, he continued to play the violin and viola for the group until 2003. After declining two previous auditions due to prior commitments, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky accepted a career-defining role with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in 1974, for which he served as a concertmaster, personnel manager and violinist for nearly 30 years.
Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky retired from performance in 2004, but remains active in the arts. He is a current board director of the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra, and a founding member of Chicago Performing Arts Incorporated, as well as the University of Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players. Likewise, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky is a member of the Recording Academy, and was active with the Chicago Federation of Musicians for much of his career. In recognition of his record of outstanding performance and artistic integrity, he was bestowed with an Olive Ditson Award and was inducted into the Franklin Honor Society. Since retiring, Mr. Zlatoff-Mirsky has enjoyed travel and photography, and plans to remain a major supporter of the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra for many years.
