AKRON, OH, December 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John C. Ragner has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With nearly two decades of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Ragner has found success as the Director of Communications of Ragner Technology Corporation. He has further flourished as an attorney with Ragner Legal Services LLC in Akron since 2012, where he specializes in criminal law, business and estate planning. Mr. Ragner has been licensed to practice law by the Ohio State Bar Association since 2002.
In order to prepare for his professional path, Mr. Ragner pursued an education at the University of Oregon, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, summa cum laude. He later obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Akron School of Law in 2002, graduating magna cum laude. Prior to his career in law, Mr. Ragner worked as a classified instructor for the Vernonia School District. Noticing that students at Vernonia didn't have an opportunity to play football at the junior level, John made an impassioned speech to the school board, which ultimately voted in favor of middle school football and named John as coach. During Vernonia's initial venture into junior high football, John coached his team to an undefeated season. As coach, John assisted the school in implementing a policy to drug test athletes, a first of its kind. During the fall of 1991, one of his players was denied participation in football due to the new drug testing policy. The school was sued, and the case went all the way to the Unites States Supreme Court. The case was ultimately decided in favor of Vernonia, and the case paved the way for drug testing athletes throughout the country, establishing a nationwide policy that is standard today. Several years later, John won a full tuition scholarship to the University of Akron School of Law and found himself studying his own case during his very first year!
Additionally, Mr. Ragner served at the Stark County Public Defenders' Office, where he accrued favorable judgements in numerous criminal trials and appeared multiple times on local court television. He later handled complex civil litigation for Parker, Leiby, Hanna & Rasnick from 2010-2012. Throughout his impressive career, he has represented cases before the Ohio Supreme Court and successfully fought for the rights of juveniles. As a further testament to his success and longevity in the field of law, Mr. Ragner was presented with the Auxiliary Award from the Akron Bar association and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Torts.
Mr. Ragner has also found success outside his chosen profession. As an avid chess player, he has won numerous events, including the OMSI Oregon Chess Championship which he won at the age of 13. He has published three books, including the ground-breaking theological book, Wages of Sin, published in 2019 and available on Amazon and fine book stores everywhere.
