Moreover, she has been affiliated with the International Brain Edema Society of Tokyo, the New York Academy of Science, the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Science in Stockholm, the Society of Neuroscience in Washington and the European Federation of Neurological Societies. Dr. Sharma has further flourished with the Journal of Nanoneuroscience as an editorial assistant and acquisition editor.
Dr. Sharma initially pursued an education at Kanpur University in her home country of India, from which she obtained a bachelor's degree in 1965, a Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery in 1974 and a Doctor of Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery in 1978. In recognition of her accomplishments, she has been honored as the Woman of the Year by the American Institute of Biological Sciences in 2009.
