In addition to her marketing and communications, Wier positioned herself as president/CEO and in 2004 opened Crete-Crafters Decorative Concrete, Inc. in Arkansas. Specializing in exterior stamped concrete for pool decks, patio, and outdoor living spaces, she is notably a licensed contractor in Arkansas. In this role, Wier was responsible for all aspects of its daily activities to generate revenue, plan and implement sales strategy development, customer relations, professional estimating, and blueprint design development, including residential and commercial efforts.
Before establishing herself with the worlds of communications and construction, Wier commenced her professional career in 1980 with the Arkansas Gazette as its Creative Services Manager and started the state's first newspaper ad agency creating advertising campaigns and logo designs. Later she became Marketing Manager and served on the executive committee of the Gannett-Arkansas Gazette. Gaining experience in executive marketing orchestrating daily activities for the promotions and creative departments, oversaw campaigns for the newspaper's special sections and collaborated with the Newspaper in Education program. Upon leaving the statewide publication in 1991, she became the Marketing and Communications Director of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. She also managed membership development and unique business events and collaborated with Arkansas and Little Rock government offices. Additionally, from 1998 to 2001, Wier served as regional marketing manager for Gabriel Communications, coordinating 14 states and implementing new location startups. She then became a regional marketing manager for Nextel Partners until leaving to begin her own business.
Before embarking upon her professional journey, Wier attended the University of Central Arkansas and the Memphis Arts Academy, attaining an Associate of Arts. She is eminently qualified and holds a master certification in concrete and construction management and certification master in decorative concrete. To remain aware of the industry's everchanging components, Wier held memberships in the American Concrete Society of Concrete Contractor (ASCC), served on the Decorative Concrete Council, and a member of the Arkansas Home Builders Association. Wier provided marketing services for the Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission and served as president of the Arkansas Spinal Cord Foundation. Currently, she is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, serves on the United Cerebral Palsy of Arkansas Board of Directors, and The Teddy Darragh Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Inc.
Looking back on her career trajectory, Ms. Wier attributes her success to the connections she has built and her natural creative talent within the arts. Dedicated to marketing and communications since the beginning of her career, she chose to see it through when the opportunity to utilize her creativity in another realm came forward—enjoying landscape projects within decorative concrete and design.
