Mr. Lancaster is a business development expert, technology industry thought leader and chief executive officer of SourceTap, a software development consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business computer systems from the University of North Texas, with additional postgraduate coursework in manufacturing, computer science and physics.
Mr. Lancaster began his career as a senior sales representative for Wang Laboratories before being named regional vice president of Oracle in 1988. He briefly served as the vice president of sales for Trilogy Development Group, departing to become president of i2 Technologies in 1994. Over the next six years, he refined his expertise in technology sales and development, developing a reputation for savvy management of marketing and growth strategy for a range of consumer and enterprise products. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Lancaster was the managing partner of Titan Ventures, stepping down to focus on his work as the chief executive officer of SourceTap, where he focuses on helping technology companies of all sizes plan their growth, including startup funding, monetization and strategic planning.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lancaster has helped launch more than 2,000 startups and sold a portfolio of companies worth more than $190 million. He is an instructor for Texas Christian University and a member of the Logistics Board and Entrepreneurship Program at the University of North Texas. Among many other honors, Mr. Lancaster has been named Texas CEO of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year, was inducted into the University of North Texas Business School Hall of Fame, and was presented with dozens of commercial sales awards. He attributes his success to staying motivated and driven, constantly wanting more and making decisions based on his long-term goals, and advises others to "put themselves in a position to win."
While driven to achieve business success, Mr. Lancaster notes that he has realized that "money isn't everything," and he treasures time spent with family. He is a Little League sports coach, a volunteer for Hippotherapy for the disabled with use of horses and a supporter of local children's charities. Mr. Lancaster is the author of the book "The Gorilla Dance," and an accomplished bodybuilder and sportsman with more than 20 NPC Championships in bodybuilding and specialty in horsemanship as a rider in the NCHA cutting horse association and has amassed many equestrian titles and earnings exceeding 500K in competition.
