Inspired by an elective class he took in junior high school, Mr. Hills continued his studies in electronics during college, earning an undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University in 1974. Upon graduating, he gained valuable professional expertise in several positions, including as an area sales manager for AMD, where he worked for two years during the early-1980s. Following this accomplishment, Mr. Hills transitioned toward an executive role with VLSI Technologies before joining Cirrus Logic Inc. as the director of sales and strategic accounts for IBM. Mr. Hills was recruited to be the vice president of sales at Silicon Motion a mobile graphics accelerator semiconductor startup. In this capacity, Mr. Hills notably won the Company's President Award for his outstanding contributions.
After the turn of the century, Mr. Hills worked as the vice president of sales for North American with ARC international, the worldwide vice president of sales for IC Media, and numerous other executive positions for such companies as Dialog Semiconductor and IDT/Mobius Microsystems, Inc. Supported by decades of expertise, he excels today as the Worldwide Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Seamless Microsystems Incorporated a provider of analog/mixed signal front-ends for sensor systems; automotive, wireless communications and ultra sound medical imaging.
In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the semiconductor field, Mr. Hills continues to be involved with startups aligned to UC Berkeley's SkyDeck and Silicon Catalyst incubators. Seamless Microsystems, Inc having been selected to the Skydeck Cohort Fall 2018 and continuing in Silicon Catalyst. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud of his accomplishments when he started as a design-engineer in the computer industry. He made the switch from mainframe computers to innovative the mini-computer for commercial and industrial business. In doing so Mr. Hills was involved in the transition of the semiconductor industry from building blocks to highly integrated solutions. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hills intends to become a board member at an electronics company and parlay his considerable expertise to the next generation of industry professionals.
