A renowned figure in the emergency medical field, Mr. Reynolds initially to join the fire department from a formative age. Beginning his career in the industry as a volunteer, he eventually ascended the ranks of the Lower Providence Fire Department until becoming Assistant Chief in 2017. After serving in the fire department for four years, he embarked upon his longstanding tenure with the Lower Providence Emergency Medical Service, excelling as the Deputy Chief from 2006 to 2017, during which time he also held the post of the human resources coordinator in 2014. Since 2017, Mr. Reynolds has served the Lower Providence Emergency Medical Service as the Chief of Operations. Throughout his career, Mr. Reynolds has a witnessed myriad of rescue operations.
However, one standout mission was when a member was lost within the fires of a commercial building. Understanding the danger and gravity of the situation, Mr. Reynolds took charge of the rescue operation and communicated with the member directly on a first name basis in an effort to keep him calm. While another member rescued the lost firefighter, Mr. Reynolds was presented with a Commendation of Merit for his bravery and willingness to take charge, and the firefighter who went into the building to rescue the member was presented with a Medal of Honor.
Mr. Reynolds believes that hard work and determination, alongside a dedication to one's organization, will ultimately lead to success. He attributes his own success to his ability to remain inclusive and create a family-like atmosphere within the public safety community, where he treats everyone equally and exhibits a calm demeanor to help others in need.
The recipient of a Bachelor of Science in organizational behavior and applied psychology from Albright College since 2012, he was recognized with a Distinguished Service Award from Firehouse Magazine in 2019. Looking toward the future, Mr. Reynolds intends to move forward within the emergency medical field, either with a larger fire department or within a county regional organization.
