Tracy CA, January 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Merlyn Pittman has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Pittman migrated to the United States at the young age of (19) years old from Trinidad and Tobago. After receiving an Associate of Science in business administration from Phillips Junior College and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Miami Dade College, she went on to work as a corrections officer in Florida. While on vacation in Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. Pittman visited a home for about 65 children that was in severely inadequate condition.
Throughout the late stages of her career, Ms. Pittman established, and became executive director of, Chest of Hope, through which she is able to assist orphans on a global level. As a certified life coach, she also offers counseling and services for victims of domestic violence. Ms. Pittman's organization has acquired four homes since its establishment.
Most recently, Chest of Hope was recognized as an Organization of the Year. As a dedicated professional, Ms. Pittman has hosted numerous workshops on domestic violence awareness and annual L.O.V.E walks (Leave Out Violence Everyday) against domestic violence, and has been invited to speak at various women's events. Ms. Pittman has been most proud to open the first transitional home in the city of Tracy California in San Joaquin County.
Outside of her professional duties, Ms. Pittman volunteers as a court appointed special advocate. She has attributed her standout success to her determination, and her desire to make a difference. She maintains her affiliation with her local chamber of commerce and the Family Justice Center, and WSBN, (small Business Network) of San Joaquin County. Looking toward the future, Ms. Pittman plans to work toward retirement and allow her staff to develop her vision further.
