STAMFORD, CT, January 07, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- E. Garrett Bewkes IV has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies from Colgate University, Mr. Bewkes initially felt driven to succeed in a career focused on politics and research, but soon transitioned towards the media industry. Securing a role with Turner Broadcasting Systems, he began working in advertising and client services for Turner's entertainment channels. Following this period, he gained much insight on business, tech, and media through his work at both start-up company Grooveshark and the New York Post. Presently, he works as Publisher of National Review, the 65-year-old storied political opinion journal founded by William F. Buckley, Jr. in 1955. Mr. Bewkes is also a graduate of the Graduate Gateway Program at American University, the Charter Oak Leadership Program of Connecticut, and the IAB Digital Leadership Program.
In recognition of his efforts, Mr. Bewkes has received several commendations from industry organizations. He was previously acknowledged as a 40 Under 40 Honoree by Ad Age Magazine in 2019, as well as a listing among the 25 Under 35 in Editor and Publisher Magazine in 2020. Since taking on his current position, Mr. Bewkes has been proud to exceed both goals and expectations in a very challenging political environment and during the COVID-19 pandemic, which he attributes to the hard work of his dedicated and unabating colleagues.
As a dedicated advocate on behalf of his community, Mr. Bewkes currently serves, or has at some time served, as an active member with a number of community organizations. He is on the Advisory Board of the New York Young Republicans Club, and serves as the elected representative of the 27th Senate District to the Republican Party of Connecticut. Formerly, he served as an active member with Brighter Children, a non-profit charity, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, MA. He also served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Hamilton, NY Fire Department from 2006-2007. Likewise, Mr. Bewkes maintains his professional affiliation with the Navy League of the United States and the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Bewkes has attributed his professional success to his mentors, colleagues and support from his family. He received most industry guidance from several women in the typically male-dominated field, and believes that this has given him a unique and beneficial perspective as a young business manager. In the coming years, Mr. Bewkes plans to continue building upon National Review's recent success to ensure that it will last for generations to come.
