Ms. Brown has specialized in representing banks and mortgage servicers in financial services litigation. The daughter of immigrants, Ms. Brown recognized that her family expected a high degree of professional success from her, and she began taking elective business classes by the time she had entered high school. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University, and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, inspired by watching a cousin's success as the owner of a law firm.
Ms. Brown began her legal career working as a paralegal at a law firm in New York City in 2007, and became a foreclosure litigation law clerk for McCabe, Weisberg & Conway in 2014 and then transitioned to attorney in 2015 after being sworn into the bar. She continued to refine her expertise in foreclosure proceedings as an Associate of Cabanillas and Associates, departing in 2018 to accept her current position with Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellot LLC. She has argued cases before the New York State Appellate Court, Second Department, and is known for her strong oral arguments and the clarity of her written motions.
Ms. Brown, through her firm, contributes pro bono work to the Name Change Project and plans to expand her practice to include bankruptcy and elder law in the coming years, with the goal of eventually opening her own practice. She attributes her success to hard work, her faith and her desire to live up to her family's expectations, and advises others to "put God first, work hard, and the rest will fall into place." Ms. Brown is active with the Metropolitan Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
