A woman of many talents, Ms. MacQueen began her career in the U.S. Army, serving as a personnel and administrative specialist as well as a broadcast journalist during the 1970s. Upon her discharge from the US military, she found success with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service as a radio traffic specialist. Over the years, Ms. MacQueen worked in several different positions with the aforementioned organization, including as a radio production specialist, supervisor, support manager, manager of internal information and news and sports specialist.
Backed by many years of professional expertise, Ms. MacQueen shifted gears and embraced her passion for interior design in the early 2000s, working as the owner of the Keilani Company and Ladysmythe Handcrafts. Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with numerous associations, including the American Society of Interior Designers, for which she was active as an allied member and a member of the board of directors, the Association of the United States Army, the Disabled American Veterans and the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters. Moreover, Ms. MacQueen has authored several works of poetry, including "Sweet Pea Teddy Bear."
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. MacQueen earned an Associate of Arts in liberal arts from Los Angeles Valley College in 1982. Subsequently, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in liberal studies from Excelsior College in 1993. After completing postgraduate coursework at the California State University, San Bernardino in 1998, Ms. MacQueen obtained a professional certificate in interior design from the University of California Riverside in 2002.
In honor of her professional and military expertise, Ms. MacQueen has been presented with an Army Commendation Medal, two Good Conduct Medals and a National Defense Service Medal through the U.S. Army. Likewise, she has been featured in such publications as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of American Women.
