ELLENWOOD, GA, January 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Calvin Johnson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Johnson is a project manager, network engineer and supply chain expert currently serving as the director of PMO Global Supply Chain and the EDI-SAP and e-commerce project manager for Georgia Associates. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the University of Liberia and relocated to the United States in the early-1980s to continue his education. In 1986, Mr. Johnson was awarded a Master of Arts in communications from Howard University, in which he worked as a graduate teaching assistant while completing his studies.
Later, Mr. Johnson served as Minister Counsellor for Public Affairs with the rank of Deputy Ambassador at the Liberian Embassy in Washington, D.C. He also taught at a community college in Maryland. Recognizing that his opportunities for advancement were limited, he took leave of his Ph.D. Dissertation at Howard and decided to refocus his career to technology, and he enrolled at Johns Hopkins University to pursue postgraduate studies in telecommunications and information systems management. He started his technology-sector career as a network communications specialist for General Electric in 1995. He also earned prestigious professional credentials such as the PMP from the Project Management Institute and Itil from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
In 2006, Mr. Johnson became a senior EDI/SAP consultant for My IT Group and departed in 2008 to become a senior consultant and manager at Computer Sciences Corporation. He worked with IBM as a PMI-certified project manager from 2010 to 2013, a period that he considers to be one of his most professionally significant endeavors.
Calvin attributes his initial success to his late father who taught him the value of knowledge and education. Later, he was highly inspired by the renowned communication scholar and professor Oscar H. Gandy, Jr. who thought him, mentored him, and directed his master's Thesis at Howard University, prior to joining the faculty of the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Calvin is a member of ISACA, the Project Management Institute, and a longtime member of the board of directors of Success Warriors, Inc., and BHSA USA. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the CR Johnson Foundation, Inc. His foundation provides individual and institutional grants to sponsor projects, graduate and undergraduate students in Liberia and the U.S. In the coming years, he hopes to publish his memoirs. Currently, he is working on completing additional manuscripts on communication technologies and supply chain for publication.
