VINTON, VA, January 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Carolyn Duncan Cecil has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Since coming of age, Dr. Cecil has aspired to avail herself in the struggles of others. She received a Bachelor of Science in history and social science from James Madison University, and more recently, a doctorate in ministry from Kingsbury Bible College. Dr. Cecil believes in life-long learning as well as life-long service. She consistently pursues subjects that assist her in education, missions, and ministry.
Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Cecil earned distinction as a world geography teacher for Roanoke County Schools for more than three decades. Following this period, she worked as a substitute teacher and authored a three-volume Christian workbook series, "Equipped: Equipping and Empowerment for Christians and Lay Ministers."
Dr. Cecil spent more than twenty years collecting, condensing, and expounding on the wisdom she has derived from the Bible, church sermons, Christian books, workshops, conferences, and personal experiences to create this Christian ministry curriculum designed to assist ordinary Christians who have the desire to help those in their own communities. Dr. Cecil has also authored multiple youth and children's books, including, Holy Spirit at Work, Angels at Work, Smells to Treasure, Our Good Earth, Life on Earth...What a Journey! and Simple Holiday Pleasures. Even at 75, she has started several new books and projects she hopes to publish soon.
In addition to her professional journey in education and literature, Dr. Cecil developed, implemented, and directed a wellness center and healing room designed to minister to those in need of encouragement, prayer, inner healing, and bondage breaking. She was also invited to Haiti as a featured speaker at a women's conference, where she spoke to more than 1,500 people. Moreover, Dr. Cecil has traveled as a missionary or educator to such countries as the Czech Republic, Zambia, Mexico, Israel, Egypt, Romania, Canada, Germany, Latvia, and Russia.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Cecil has distinguished herself as a tenacious hard worker and a dedicated Christian who never gives up once she starts a project. The reason for her passion is her belief that many of our problems can be solved by receiving Jesus Christ, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and reading and applying the Bible scriptures.
Dr. Cecil maintains her affiliation with Holy Spirit International Ministries Inc., Kingsbury Bible College, and her local church.
